Binge Eating Demystified (BEDmystified)

Binge Eating Demystified exists to share all things binge eating disorder, body image, and self-help related content. Our names are Elka Cubacub, and Breena Shusterman, both recovered binge eaters, who are here to guide you through the tumultuous journey that is recovery. We feel fortunate to be in a position to finally offer support, empathy, and answers to all of your questions. Each week, we provide information that inspires, informs, and uplifts you on the recovery path, and, most importantly, resolve questions you cannot find answers to. Send questions to our Instagram DMs @bedemystified, write a review with your question, or email soulsubstancerecovery@gmail.com. Listen anywhere you get your podcasts, and please rate and review the podcast if you enjoy it. Our mantra is that, if there’s a will, there is a way. You will recover if you set your mind to it. In this week's episode, Elka and Breena dive into a conversation about why binge eating is stigmatized, and how these stigmas lend themselves to triggers. Lack of willpower is a fallacy that permeates the general perception of why people continue binge eating, despite its adverse affects on the psychological and physical well-being of its partakers. Listen to find out how to tackle triggers without expending essential energy reserves on the battle of fighting urges.
